Select Media Holdings LLP Celebrates Sachin Pilgaonkar's 60th Birthday And Announced His Next Directorial Venture

Moving Pictures, a film production division of Select Media Holdings LLP, hosted veteran actor, director, singer and producer Sachin Pilgaonkar’s 60^th birthday on August 17, 2017 with much fanfare at a grand event held in a five star hotel Mumbai. 

The special occasion was also marked by the official announcement of Sachin Pilgaonkar’s next directorial venture, a youthful love story, to be produced by his wife Supriya Pilgaonkar, Joe Rajan and Vajir Singh.

It is after four-long -years that Sachin will return to direction. The film will feature, Sachin’s dear friend and late co-star Laxmikant Berde’s son – Abhinav Berde, who will be seen for the first time in a full-fledge role of a hero. The leading lady of the film is yet to be finalized. With this film Sachin adds another feather to his multifaceted cap as he will also score the music for the film.

The event was graced by the who’s who of the Marathi and Hindi film fraternity, who came in to wish the actor-director for his birthday and also raise a toast for his new venture. Eminent personalities like Chief Minister Devendra Phadnavis Sachin Tendulkar and Raj Thackeray along with personalities such as Jaya Bachchan, Abbas Mastaan, Bappi Lahiri, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan, Ali Asghar, Sumeet Raghavan, Rajkumar Barjatya, Johnny Lever, etcwho too joined the celebrations and extended their best wishes to Pilgaonkar and the team.

Come 15th September, get ready for a hilarious outing at the cinemas as thespian Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal battle each other in Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi! The fun trailer of the entertaining comedy drama is finally out and it promises to deliver as expected and more!

At the grand trailer launch, Rishi Kapoor entered the venue to the beats of Punjabi Dhol while Paresh Rawal made his entry with Gujarati dancers from the other side. Still being in their character, the two leads started having comic banter when they came in each other’s sight. This is the first time that the two actors will be sharing the screen. Also present for the trailer launch were Director Sanjay Chhel, Producers Bharat Patel and Kalapi Nagada along with the lead actress Payal Ghosh.

'Poster Boys' is Sunny Deol's Fastest Film Shot till date!

Eagerly awaited in the month of September, thanks to its quirky and curious theme, Shreyas Talpade's directorial 'Poster Boys' brings together the Deol Brothers in avatars never seen before. Donning the hat of Director and actor both, Shreyas created a shoot set so organized and fun, that the film was completed at lightening speed! Apparently, the Deols had a blast working on Poster Boys thanks to which they shot their scenes at a stretch in just 37 days!

An inside source claims that 'Poster Boys' is one of Sunny Deol's fastest films completed yet in his illustrious career.

A source says," Shreyas had never worked with the deol's and he was a fan boy of Sunny Deol. With Bobby, he did a lot of workshops before the shoot and got to know him really well. They finished the shoot in 37 days,3-4 days in advance as per the schedule with few extra days in hand. That's how well planned Shreyas and Sony pulled off the entire schedule in one go. For the trio, on the last day of the shoot, they had no idea that the shooting is coming to an end as they had a great time filming it in Bhor."

Well, looks the bonhomie off sets definitely reflects on screen with the trailer has gone viral already!

Poster Boys is produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Sunny Sounds Pvt Ltd, Shreyas Talpade and Deepti Talpade. A light hearted comedy-drama starring Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, and Shreyas Talpade. Directed by Shreyas Talpade, the film is slated to release on September 8th, 2017.

Milan Luthria conducted look tests for a truck

In his next directorial Baadshaho, Milan Luthria was shown as many as 20 heavy duty vehicles to choose from, for his requirement of an armored truck. He was very clear with his specifications for the truck, the shape had to be aspirational for children and at the same time rugged, like in war movies. After many garage and vehicle supplier visits, the popular Shaktiman truck was zeroed in on.

Production designer Shashank Tere got into designing the details immediately whereas the German action-director Ramazan Bulut got into the technical aspects as to how it would be modified with regards to the action sequences keeping in mind the safety of the actors. Another important feature of the truck is the lock and the heavy metal door at the back.

The truck had to be painted four times before it got approval from Milan. He wanted the shade of green to be coordinating with the hue of the film, which is rustic and raw. 

Until the end of the first schedule, there was a lot of back and forth as the modifications had to be perfect and do justice to the character it's

playing in the film.

Bobby Deol's ‘shuddh Hindi’ workshop started with the Gayatri Mantra!

The recently released trailer of Poster Boys starring Sunny and Bobby Deol along with Shreyas Talpade in the lead was a rage amongst audiences who absolutely loved the light hearted comedy it showcased.

One of the most interesting aspects to watch out for is Bobby Deol’s ‘shuddh Hindi’ rant against the people who put up their posters all around the city.

A source close to the makers of the film told us that Shreyas Talpade and writer Bunty Rathod had personally taken an initiative to coach Bobby. It was a process that Bobby had to follow, which would start off with him reciting the Gayatri Mantra in the morning followed by reading authentic Hindi newspapers on a daily basis in order to improve his diction. 

The workshop was extensive and went on for a fortnight, the outcome as we saw in the trailer is definitely applauded worthy.

Inspired by a real-life incident, Poster Boys is a story about three men, who are shocked to find their pictures being used as part of a vasectomy campaign and how they decide to fight against the system.

Haseena Parkar all set to hit the theatres on 22nd September

Haseena Parkar has been in constant buzz since its trailer launch that took place in the iconic Maratha Mandir. Even after the announcement of the release date getting postponed, the excitement and enthusiasm amongst the audience and fans could not be suppressed. 

Director Apoorva Lakhia is known to make realistic movies and has always taken his time to make sure the movie is perfect and on point. He was keen on showcasing Haseena Parkar to a wider and larger audience making the film reach out to masses. 

The entire team of Haseena Parkar collectively decided to shift the release date to avoid clutter with the already releasing movies and wanted to get a better release date as there has been a lot of hard work, research and thought put behind each and every scene of the movie. 

Director Apoorva Lakhia shares, "As a director it is very important for me to ensure that the film reaches out to maximum audience as it takes a lot of patience and perseverance to make a film on a subject like this. We are all set to release on 22nd September and hope the audience loves it as much as we loved working on it."
