Taapsee Pannu trains with Mithali Raj’s friend & former teammate for Viacom18 Studios’ Shabaash Mithu

When it comes to method acting, the best bridge between the reel and real life can be brought on by linking the two. With the same thought in mind, Taapsee Pannu is presently training under Mithali Raj’s friend, ex-colleague and former India player Nooshin Al Khadeer for Shabaash Mithu. As a long-time friend and former teammate, Nooshin is aptly suited to advise and train Taapsee not only in Mithali’s iconic style of cricket but also on other finer aspects of emulating the ace cricketer on screen such as her poise, stance and unique traits.

And even though hailing from such starkly different professions, there are many similarities between Taapsee and Mithali. Elaborating on this, Nooshin said: “Taapsee is extremely dedicated and her commitment to playing cricket like a professional is commendable. It is heartening to see so many common traits between Taapsee and Mithali like dedication, a go-getter attitude and tenacity.”

With this crucial link in place, all eyes are on Taapsee to bring alive this much anticipated film. Produced by Viacom18 Studios, Directed by Rahul Dholakia and Written by Priya Aven, Shabaash Mithu is the inspiring tale based on the life of Indian Women’s ODI Cricket Team captain, Mithali Dorai Raj. A beacon of women’s cricket across the world, Mithali’s life is being recreated for the silver screen in this biopic.

Nikamma Abhimanyu turns a year older!*

Nikamma star Abhimanyu is on cloud nine, as he celebrates his birthday today. While birthday celebrations have started to take a normal life, team Nikamma has had a fun rather goofy birthday wish for Abhimanyu.

These BTS shots from Sabbir Khan’s Nikamma prove that it was a fun set all the way long during the shoot time.

Recently, at a college festival, Abhimanyu was unanimously voted as the upcoming action hero to watch out for in 2021.

While we celebrate Abhimanyu birthday today, the video clearly makes us want to watch the movie soon.

Nikamma is produced by Sony Pictures Films India and Sabbir Khan Films.

Pooja Entertainment unveils the enthralling title logo of their magnum opus 'Suryaputra Mahavir Karna'!

Mahabharata' is one epic tale that has inspired many film-makers around the globe. However, barely any scripts are presented on the celluloid from Suryaputra Mahavir Karna's perspective. Bringing this story alive for the first time ever on the big screen are producers Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Jackky Bhagnani.

The film will be envisioned on an unparalleled scale with an exemplary attention to detail and benchmark visual effects. It will be a spectacle unlike any unleashed upon the big screen in Indian cinema.  The multilingual project is written and directed by R S Vimal. This film will be the most distinguished and grand production from Pooja Entertainment till date.

The film will highlight the events of the epic tale from Suryaputra Mahavir Karna's point of view and will be one of the most awaited box-office battles of the 21st Century.

The makers have also roped in India's celebrated poet Dr. Kumar Vishwas to pen the dialogues, lyrics and additional screenplay of the film. This marks Dr. Vishwas' first-ever association with any film in India. Vishwas routinely gives performances in which he recites his poetry and demonstrates his love for Hindi, Urdu, and Sanskrit literature.

'Suryaputra Mahavir Karna' will be made in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam and is all set to redefine the genre of opulent period dramas in the Indian film industry. It promises to be the most eagerly awaited blockbuster of the decade.

A lesbian love story in a Hindi music video for the first time

Tarsame Mittal, who manages a bevvy of famous singers, presents India's first music video which beautifully depicts the love story between two women. Tarsame echoes the sentiment "Love is unconditional" while talking about the video, which is being discussed widely since its launch last week.

For a video which features new faces as well as a new singer, it is no small feat to have received almost 10 lakh views in just ten days. What's even more pleasantly surprising is the positive response the lesbian love story has been getting.

Naturally, in a society still not open to homosexuality, some naysayers are bound to make appearances. So why did the makers take this route? "Debutant singer Akshay Khot's song is a beautiful romantic melody. But there is no shortage of romantic music videos today. So we thought, why not make it thought-provoking? That's when we came up with this concept," explains Tarsame.

In 2014, Celina Jaitley's remix of the iconic Bollywood song 'Uthe Sabke Kadam' titled The Welcome depicted a gay relationship. "Our song Tere Bagair is the first of its kind to show a lesbian love story," says Tarsame. Previously, Sonam Kapoor's love story Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga is the only other open depiction of a lesbian love story in the Indian popular culture.

Tarsame believes that a real change will only come w

hen

hen society accepts that all love is love. "In our video, the two women are in love with each other and share a healthy functional relationship. But what happens at the end is what we need to stop normalising," explains Tarsame.

Ideally, songs and videos are promoted before the launch. But this reverse approach has a solid reason. "We wanted to see how people react to the video first. It is being loved and appreciated although everyone involved is new, actors Moumita Pal and Sofia, and singer Akshay Khot. Now that the song is getting so much love, we want to talk about it," elaborates Tarsame.

The video features a kissing scene between the two women, a controversial move some may argue. "On one hand we're talking about normalising homosexuality. And on the other hand, we're questioning a kissing scene. Especially in the post-OTT era, where everything gets a pass."

Controversial murmurs gradually come to the fore when something out of the ordinary is represented. "I will reiterate as many times as is necessary. Change comes from acceptance. And every real change takes time. Instead of criticism, I welcome an open dialogue. If our video can open the stage for an open-minded discussion as opposed to a hateful dismissal, then I believe that it has won," concludes Tarsame.
