Rising singing star Riya BhattacharyaDebut song in Mahesh Manjrekar Marathi movie.

"Deh Petude," from Marathi film De Dhakka 2, earning love and appreciation. It already has 3.4 lac views on YouTube after just 2 days. This melodious song is expected to reach one million viewers in the next 15 days.

On the success of De Dhakka 2, Riya says that she considers herself lucky to have received the chance to sing this song. She adds, "I want to thank director Mahesh Manjrekar and composer Hitesh Modak for giving me such an important song."

Riya aspired to become a singer since childhood and was the second runner-up in the popular 2017 music competition, Om Shanti Om. Since then, she has been imprinting the town with her singing. Baba Ramdev, singer-composer Shekhar Ravijani, actress Sonakshi Sinha, and singer Kanika Kapoor Om Shanti Om's judging panel. Aparshakti Khurana hosted it. 

While for some, just making her presence felt on the stage of Star Bharat would be an achievement in itself. But Riya went ahead and won the second runner-up title. After the reality show, Riya got absorbed in her stage shows around the country and abroad, though the desire to sing in films burned bright. The success of the song Deh Petude has brought her into the limelight, and she has begun getting offers for playback singing.

Riya was born and brought up in Bokaro Steel City, and the success of Om Shanti Om bestowed her with the tag of Chas Bokaro's daughter. After completing high school at DPS Bokaro in 2014, she went to Delhi for further studies.

She said I did a few years of my schooling in Bluebells School International When I was really small. & then also studied music in Miranda House, Delhi University & used to stay near North Campus. 

I love Delhi for it's extraordinary food & famous street shopping. I have loads of college memories where we used win a lot of Inter college music competitions. Delhi surely has an important role to play in my musical journey.while simultaneously preparing for music competitions. In 2017 her talent was recognized by the judges of Om Shanti Om, making her a well-known singer.

Riya says there is no singer in the family, but, "My mother is very fond of music, and she always encouraged my singing. She has full faith in my talent. So she always encourages me to sing better." Riya.

Riya's heartfelt wish is to lend her voice to songs for actresses Alia Bhatt and Amrita Khanvilkar. Riya is an engaging performer, a melodious singer, and quite good-looking. So, if offered a role in a film or web series, will she accept it? "I don't know if I will be able to act or not, but if any offer comes, then there is no harm in trying. Although I am naturally shy, time will tell how successful I will be."

Would she participate in more reality shows? "I don't want to be a part of a singing reality show once again at this point because I want to focus on my playback singing journey." She wants to pen and compose songs and work towards being a better musician. All the best to her!

SPENCER, FILM ON PRINCESS DIANA, TO RELEASE IN INDIA ON 19TH NOVEMBER

Impact Films announces the theatrical release of the current year’s one of the most talked-about and highly rated English language films, titled SPENCER by Pablo Larrain across the  Nation on 19th Nov. It features Kristen Stewart in the lead role of Princess Diana and Jack Farthing as Prince Charles, beautifully supported by Sally Hawkins and Timothy Spall.  

Spencer concentrates on three turbulent days in the life of Diana during the Christmas of 1991  where Diana and her family are staying at Sandringham, a well known royal tradition. Over  Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, Diana realises that her marriage is breaking down and doesn’t want to be the future queen. The biopic gives the audience a glimpse into the character of Princess Diana whizzing through many official engagements she attended, a frosty dynamic with the royal family, and plenty of emotional scenes exploring the late Princess’s vulnerability and how she struggled to fit in. 

The film debuted at the Venice Film Festival. It then screened at several renowned film festivals like Toronto, Telluride, New York, etc., before getting released in the United States and the United Kingdom on 5th Nov. It has already emerged as the frontrunner in the upcoming Academy Awards for the Best Actress for Kristen Stewart. It is likely to land nominations in some other categories as well. On playing Diana, Kristen Stewart says,” At that moment, we’re not trying to depict what happened in there, but it is, maybe, an idea of what happened inside of her.” 

Chilean director Pablo Larrain has created several flicks with strong female characters and is known for Oscar-nominated film Jackie. Pablo, who has been fascinated and had been thinking about making a film on this subject for a while, believes, ”Everything our Diana sees is a reflection of her memories, her fears and desires and maybe even her illusions.” 

SPENCER is a biopic that excels in every filmmaking department, including Script by  Steven Knight, Cinematography by World famous Claire Mathon, Costume Designer  Jacqueline Durran, Composer Jonny Greenwood, Makeup & hair design by Wakana Yoshihara and Production Design by Guy Hendrix Dyas. Remo D’Souza and Lizelle D’Souza are all set to don their producer hats again as they collaborate with Suuraj Sinngh to entertain the OTT audiences with unique content. The trio have come together to make multiple content-driven projects for the web which will include web shows, original films and other shows promising unique and entertaining stories.

Having an eye for good content and talent, the producers are currently working on many stories and will announce their projects soon. 

Talking about his venture into the web world and collaborating with Suuraj Sinngh, Remo D’Souza shares, “OTT has opened up space for more entertainment and both Lizelle and I have been watching and consuming a lot of content in the lockdown and we think we have cracked what would be great content for web release.
