Movies these days are been made to give a strong potential message that inspires people especially youth globally. In cinema, things are slowly changing with more and more actresses given titular roles and central characters! In Hollywood as well as Bollywood, women are being seen as the 'heroes' kicking ass and having the entire story, promotions and marketing campaigns as well revolve around them
This year saw the best movies praising women confidence and highlighting the women spirit, with many more expected ahead.
1. PINK: Pink is not just any regular women-centric film that speaks about women’s rights. There’s more to it than just that. It’s hard-hitting and realistic. Shoojit Sircar and Amitabh Bachchan’s chemistry gets stronger and even better after Piku. There have been so many movies based on rape, molestation and thousand other things that women have to deal with in this country. Pink adds to these but with a special message that hasn’t been spoken about yet, a message that every woman will relate to very strongly. Pink is the answer to all your WHYs about an ‘appropriate’ lifestyle for women. No woman or girl deserves to be molested, raped or gawked at irrespective of what she wears or how she speaks.
2. Ghostbusters: It is the third feature film in the Ghostbusters franchise and serves as a reboot to the previous films about four women who start a ghost-catching business in New York City.
3. Suicide Squad: This antihero team movie garnered most of the attention worldwide especially Harley Quinn. In Suicide Squad, a secret government agency led by Amanda Waller recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions and save the world from a powerful threat, in exchange for leaner sentences.Margot Robbie plays the role of Harley - A crazed supervillain and former psychiatrist. Well, she has managed to grab the eyeballs around the world with being the most loved character of the film
4. Mira Nair's Queen Of Katwe:, Neerja, Akira, Sarabjit, Saala Khadoos etc were also women centered films.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story: Disney’s Rogue One, which is all set to release this December globally tells the story of a group of unlikely heroes, who in a time of conflict band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
Felicity Jones portrays the role of Jyn Erso. Putting behind a checkered past by lending her skills to a greater cause, Jyn is impetuous, defiant, and eager to bring the battle to the Empire. Used to operating alone, she finds higher purpose by taking on a desperate mission for the Rebel Alliance.
2. Moana: Moana talks about the adventure of a young woman who goes in search of a fabled island. In this animated movie, a young woman (voiced by newcomer Auli'i Cravalho) uses her navigational talents to set sail for a fabled island. Joining her on the adventure is her hero, the legendary demi-god Maui. The film sees Moana as rising star Auli'i Cravalho with Dwayne Johnson and has already got Oscar buzz thanks to early reviews!
3. Wonder Woman: Gal Gadot portrays the role of Princess Diana/ Wonder Woman.
In the early 20th century, the Amazon princess Diana, who is living on the island of Themyscira, meets American military pilot Steve Trevor when he is washed ashore. After learning about the ongoing events of a world war from him, she leaves her home to try to help end the war. After leaving her all-female Island, Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) discovers her full powers and true destiny while fighting alongside soldiers during World War I.
4. Kahaani 2: This suspense thriller film directed by Sujoy featuring Vidya Balan and Arjun Rampal in lead roles. It is not a sequel of the 2012 film Kahaani but next installment from same brand. The trailer and dialogue promos have already made it the most anticipated of the year-end!
5. Dangal: is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical sp orts drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari. It stars Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat, who taught wrestling to his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. The former is India's first female wrestler to win at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, where she won the gold medal (55 kg) while her sister Babita Kumari won the silver (51 kg). "Dangal" is the Hindi term for "a wrestling competition". Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra play the role of the two daughters who have managed to woo the audiences already as seen in the trailers and the songs.
6. Noor: The film is based on Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz's novel Karachi, You're Killing Me! And follows a Pakistani journalist-writer Noor's misadventures and love life as she navigates her way through Mumbai. The film is scheduled for a worldwide release on 7 April 2017. It is a Hindi drama film with Sonakshi Sinha in the lead titular role.
7. Arrival:Twelve mysterious extraterrestrial spacecraft, nicknamed "Shells" by the U.S. military, touch down across Earth. Their purpose in arriving, as well as whether there is logic behind the specific landing sites, is unclear. Linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) is selected to lead a special team created to enter one of the Shells which touched down in Montana, due to her skills in translation and her pre-existing Top Secret security clearance.
8. Haseena: Shraddha Kapoor will play Haseena Parkar in the story of Haseena and her brother, notorious gangster Dawood Ibrahim in the biopic
