Debutant writer-director Suman Ganguli and debutant producers Raujesh Kumar Jain of Krish Movies & Sarju Kumaar Acharjee of Jeevandhara Productions Pvt Ltd are elated at the success of their debut film at the 19th International Children Film Festival India 2015 recently. The film Blue Mountains won the Golden Elephant trophy and a cash prize for the Best Feature Film. Says Suman Ganguli, “I am thrilled at the response that I got for the film. The full house audience, PAN-INDIA child delegates, teachers and parents were spell bound by the film, they had tears in their eyes and I could see that they were touched by the subject.”

This musical family film deals with success and failure but there is something that’s different about it. The movie protagonist, the child prodigy who sings wondrously, goes through trials in life to understand himself and the world around him. The character is played by debutant actor Yatharth Ratnum, who incidentally was also one of the contestant at Sa Re Ga Ma Pa li’l Champ in 2009.

On winning this prominent award, an elated Mr. Raujesh Kumar Jain, said, “I feel humbled to receive this prestigious award for our film ‘Blue Mountains’ which emphasizes on the importance of parenting styles and family values. I would like to thank the jury members and the viewers for recognizing our efforts. Simultaneously I want to express my gratitude to all team members that made this happen and whose hard work and efforts have made us to won this esteemed recognition today.”

Delegates present at the festival weren’t ready to believe that it was Ganguli’s first film. The way the film has been shot, the sensitivity of the issue and the manner in which it has been handled shows the director’s talent and skill in film making. That gets proven when we get to know that there were around 1200 entries from 78 countries and more than 200 films were screened in this festival.

The film also stars, Ranvir Shorey, Gracy Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Mahesh Thakur, Simran Sharma,Rishabh Sharma, and Arif Zakaria along with other actors.Monty Sharma has given the music for this movie .Parikshet Sahni came specially to wish them all the best.Actress Gracy Singh and Rajpal Yadav missed the press meet as they were busy in shooting.
